This weekend marks the 14th Annual Jazz at the Mansion presented by Parlor Entertainment.

Mansion

Duke Ellington said that the Morris-Jumel Mansion was the crown at the top of Sugar Hill, a neighborhood famous for its illustrious Harlem Renaissance residents, many of whom were key players in the world of jazz music. Well, we haven’t forgotten his words or the rich tradition of art and music that surrounds us in Upper Manhattan and to keep the tradition alive, Parlor Entertainment (artistic director Marjorie Eliot) and the Morris-Jumel Mansion hosts a popular jazz series free to the public each Summer. Jazz lovers enjoy an entire week of free jazz concerts with topnotch NYC musicians in a setting known for its rich tradition in this unique American art form. The series begins with concerts held in our Octagonal Drawing Room and culminates in a festive lawn concert on the weekend. Check the calendar of events for specific dates, times, program information, and how to make reservations.
