Greasy Guide [website] has discovered that the royal rodent of fun, games and pizza is moving into Harlem. At press time Mr. Cheese and his people weren’t returning calls. We’ll keep you posted as details become available.

Seriously, this is an insult to the neighborhood. As Harlem historian Michael Henry Adams said, they are going to turn Harlem into Paramus, NJ.
I hope anyone taking their kid out has the self respect to go to Harlem Lanes, which is just a couple blocks away.
I am with Chris and Michael. They are turning 125th into the new Paramus.
When I saw the Chuckie sign walking to the train station the other day, I KNEW my contacts were failing me. The only thing though, with the change of residents in the community we will have to see things that are in the ‘burbs.
i agree with you guys-except the “wiht the change of residents in the community we will have to see things that are in the burbs”…the new residents in our ‘hood come from downtown and the rest of manhattan…not the burbs…and they probably hate chuckie just as much if not more than everyone who’s been living uptown all along. i dont know who will go to this place, but my guess is it’s not the downtown hipsters who are new to harlem.
Chuckie cheese is good for Harlem , there is no where for Children in Harlem, you should be complaining about the other rodents that come to HARLEM AND TOOK OVER …ref: the NEW COLORED RESIDENTS …they walk like that own Harlem …they have been fixing up Harlem for the new comers not Harlem-nites. CHUCKIE SHOULDN’T BE THE PROBLEM this Housing that the NEW COLORED Harlem are taking should be the ISSUE TO FIGHT FOR
Harlem has always been about change. So to see Chuck E Cheese in the neighborhood that I was born (yes … Sydenham Hospital), educated and live in doesn’t really surprise me. I had hoped that something else would be placed there like an upscale (not Sylvia’s) Southern styled restaurant or a Bar-B-Que place along the lines of Dinosaur BBQ (can anyone get in there to eat?) or Dallas BBQ’s or maybe even an Italian restaurant chain of some sort like The Olive Garden. 125th street in my opinion can be so much more. When I go to savannah, Chicago and b4 Katrina, The Quarter … I would get disgusted at how pathetic our little street in the world is. To say that we need places for our kids is an understatement … I personally don’t like the concept of Chuck E. Cheese because I expect so much more for my 2 year old than games and nasty pizza. I can do that at home. I want much more. But If Chuck can last longer than 10 years, I’ll be satisfied that something was there than nothing at all. The bottom line is that other people are here (not moving in, but here) and we should embrace them and enjoy what they bring to the table. But hey, I don’t have to run over to Paramus now. I can get crappy, but strongly marketed, pizza three blocks away.
