Harlem Rallies around Cuban Vice President

Cuban Vice-President of the Council of State, Esteban Lazo Hernandez addresses a massive Harlem rally

47959.jpgOn Wednesday, September 20th, 2006, at 7:30 P.M. thousands of people will welcome the Cuban Delegation to the United Nations at The Church of the Intercession – 550 West 155th Street & Broadway.

Keynote speaker, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, Cuban Vice-President of the Council of State, Head of the Department of International Relations and Member of the Delegate Committee to Cuba’s National Assembly of Popular Power will address many issues surrounding his country in today’s complex world.

As the principal instigator of the National and International Education Program with Jose Ramón Machado Ventura, Esteban Lazo was one of several Cuban leaders provisionally delegated on July 31st by President Fidel Castro to assume functions of State as provided for under the Cuban constitution.

The evening will include remarks by The Reverend Lucius Walker of IFCO/Pastors for Peace and Attorney Leonard Weinglass who will give an update on the case of five Cubans currently serving lengthy prison terms for preventing acts of terrorism against their island-nation.
