sugarshack.jpgI’ve noticed that Sugar Shack on 8th Avenue and Yvonne Yvonne on 135th near 8th Avenue have both been closed up. Does anyone with the inside scoop?

Yvonne Yvonne was a steam table Caribbean food take out restaurant with no indoor seating and mediocre to sub-par food.

Sugar Shack used to the hottest night spot in the area right down the street from Londel’s. The last couple of times I poked my head in there they were completely empty!

Swing Out which used to be A Slice of Harlem rounds out the vacant commercial space in that area.

    We moved at the beginning of November. The address is 11 East 125th Street, right beside the Nicholas on 125th Street. The building next to the National Black Theater.

    Xukuma is on 125th between 5th and Madison. They are in the National Black Theater. They papered the community with fliers saying that they were moving. They had problems with their space.

    Xukuma moved to a new location.Don’t remember where.

    Don’t know about SS or YY, but it looks like Xukuma on Lenox is also closed. Website is still up thou: http://www.xukuma.com
