The number of surveillance cameras in downtown Manhattan and Harlem has multiplied considerably, making it difficult to walk the streets without being watched. Source: NY Daily News

    Are the cameras monitored by NYPD or just records the street action?
    If they just record, why is it that when something happens on 125 they do not go to the “Video Tape”! Makes me think that most of the cameras are ‘dummies’
