We’ll return on Tuesday. Be sure to pay homage to Dr. King’s legacy as you enjoy your time off from work. Facts about Dr. King’s and Harlem:
In 1958, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was stabbed by a mentally-unstable woman in Blumstein’s Department Store in Harlem. The 29-year-old King was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery to remove a steel letter opener. [Read about this incident in When Harlem Nearly Killed King]
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is remembered today in New York with a street named in his honor. Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard is an alternative name for Manhattan’s 125th Street. Sorry folks for making the MLK error.I don’t know what the heck I was thinking when I made that post.
7th Ave is named after Adam Clayton Powell
I actually have to work on Monday!
7th ave is NOT named after MLK? 7th ave is ADAM CLAYTON POWEL. where you live?
To the south, 125th Street is named for the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Since when has 125th street been known as MLK blvd. 7th ave is named after Martin Luther King not 125th Street.
