Communities as Assets Or Omelets
Robert Moses said, “You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs.” So, who ordered the omelet? Big projects promise big returns, but may disproportionately benefit the well-connected. Are the economic fibers that connect communities undermined as a result? Majora Carter, Executive Director of Sustainable South Bronx, will discuss the implications of the “top-down” paradigm that she argues characterizes development today. Presented in conjunction with Robert Moses and the Modern City: Remaking the Metropolis.

the comment was so deep I only wish I could win a trip to this event.
i have a feeling i’ve heard that one before. it’s catchy though.
If I was trapped in a malfunctioning elevator with 2 people, Robert Moses & the Grand Wizard of the KKK, and I had a gun with 2 bullets?…I would shoot Robert Moses twice (and be high fived by every person that lived/lives in the Bronx).
i’m actually going to be present at this event. i’m really looking forward to it. i’ve done a lot of reading on robert moses and this exhibit in general is a delight for a nyc nerd like myself. i’ll bring a review of the event for all to enjoy .
