Casa Loma Condos on 116th Street
We were completely oblivious to these condos until they were recently brought to our attention. Overshadowed by the more prominent high rise condo developments in the area, Casa Loma at 229 West 116th Street between Frederick Douglas and Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Boulevards, is a restored pre-war building that seems to have retained some of it’s original character, namely the exposed brick in the living rooms.
There are a total of 16 condominiums in the building, including 10 one bedroom/bath units and 5 two bedroom one and half bath units. Four of the one bedrooms include a balcony. There is also a ground floor duplex with a private patio.
As you can see from the pictures above, the building offers exposed brick walls, 11 foot ceilings, oak floors, open kitchens with stainless steel appliances, and washer dryer units. The rest of the amenities are pretty standard to what you’ll find in surrounding developments. It looks like the units have lots of windows and get plenty of natural light if the pictures are representative of all the units in the building; If not, I recommend requesting the one in the picture.
How much are they, you ask? Well, the one bedrooms start at $450,800, the two bedrooms at $550,000 and the garden level duplex is $750,500.
Warburg is marketing this development, so you can get more details (and see a few more pictures) by visiting their website at www.warburgrealty.com. If you decide to go by and check out their two bedroom model, be sure to give us your impression of the place.
