I’ve been there, it was “ok”, the place is grossly overpriced for what it is (and I dine all over this City, frequently).
Example, a single lunchtime “side” you may want to order is an additional $5, each (for lunch mind you). Counter this with Melba’s where a side is $3.
Pier2110′s Collard Greens and or Buttered Green Beans are not so jamming to where one could justify them as $5 side worthy at the lunch hour no less, please.
This stuff adds up when you take people, dine often, etc. you know when a place is overreaching.
Note Pier2110 envokes a mandatory 18 % tip on your bill if you have a party as small as 4 people. I kid you not, it’s right there on their website too (look on their menu).
IMO that takes a hell of a lot of nerve and is entirely congruent with racial stereotyping and profiling. That’s truly how I feel, it strikes as insulting and offensive on numerous levels. It also assumes their service is 18% tip worthy, which is again outrageous.
In all honesty regardless of the service I take a look at the tax and make sure the tip is double that. Quite amusing that my personal general tip policy does not rise to Pier2110 minimal standards for a party of 4.
