Late Breaking News…Building Collapse
The vacant five-story building on Lexington Avenue between East 115th and East 116th streets collapsed just after 11:30 a.m. 12 workers were on the site at the time of the collapsed. All 12 have been accounted for.
The abandoned five-story building used to house a grocery and liquor store.
Residents said they heard a loud noise and some of the building collapsed.
The 4, 5, and 6 subway trains were temporarily suspended though the area.
No. 6 trains suspended between 86th Street and 138th Street. No. 5 trains running on the No. 2 line between Nevins Street and 149th Street. No. 4 trains suspended between Borough Hall and 125th Street.
Metro-Notrh trains are operating at reduced speeds between East 110th Street and East 120th Street, due to the collapse.
