Mind Body and Socials Making Moves
Mind, Body N Socials sponsored a night of networking full of talented and creative
women at Suite 308 on Lenox Avenue. In case you don’t know, Suite 308 is one of the hottest new lounges in Harlem and it is run by a 26 year old young woman who is truly a force to be reckoned with. If you haven’t been by there check it out for yourself and be sure to tell the bosslady Teenisha that UPTOWNflavor sent you.
MBNS sponsors events all over Harlem, primarily in association with new businesses. They might host a bowling party one week, a wine tasting the next and ski trip after that. You just never know what they will come up with next and the best thing about them is that the events are either free or very affordable. If you are looking to network with movers and shakers in Harlem then you definitely need to attend one of their events. Sign up for the MBNS mailing list so you can get in on their next event taking place this Saturday. Visit their website for the details.
A friend of mine had been forwarding me their events for a while so I finally decided to check them out. I’m glad I did since it afforded the opportunity to meet people like Celeste Beatty, the founder of Sugar Hill Ale, the only beer brewed right here in Harlem. Other women in attendance included the publishers of Game Sports Magazine, a young woman starting up a model management company, and my new friend Michelle, who is in the process of opening up a new cafe called the East Harlem Cafe just in time for summer. She will be hosting another coffee tasting on April 12th from 6-8 p.m. at 171 East 109th Street.
All in all it was a great night of networking with people who are motivated and making successful strides in their chosen fields. The event truly exemplified what uptown flavor is about!
