The Best of… Spring Weekend Guide
2007 March 30
Let’s consider this volume one of what is sure to be a series of great weekends this spring.
- The Grand (re) opening of a new and improved Cafe Largo! After four years of extensive renovation this neighborhood favorite has reopened its doors in a larger, sexier space. There is a new dining room in the back of the restaurant and a brand new kitchen featuring a brick oven that is shared with sister businesses Tres Pasos and Vinegar Hill. The trio of restaurants is located at 137th and Broadway. The 1 train stops right in front. The food is amazing! Take some good company along and have a great time.
- Saturday March 31, Mr. Gaines from Cosby spin-off “A Different World” will be performing on the campus of City College. Lou Meyers will be reprising “Foot Steps from Before” at the Aronow Theatre at 136th and Convent Avenue. Tickets are $15 to the general public and only $5 for students and children. Call 212-817-2076 or email moeselby@yahoo.com. You can also order a DVD of the show in case you can’t make the performance. Call GBI at 310-649-6623 or email gbi1@sbcglobal.net.
- Friday, March 30 is the application deadline for The Sisulu-Walker Charter School for grade K-4. Call 212-786-7916 for more information or log onto their website.
- Amiri Baraka back in Harlem signing books at Hue-Man Bookstore at 125th and 8th Avenue, this Saturday at 7 p.m.

Is Cafe Largo open now?
Those restaurants sound divine, all three in a row! Will definitely check out Cafe Largo my next trip to NYC.
yep, Cafe Largo is now open….”soft” opening
My husband and I are delighted to say “Yes, Cafe Largo is now open for dinner from 6pm – 11:30pm.” Will start normal business hours 5pm-12am next week. If possible, please call for a reservation, 212-234-1811 or email cafelargo@aol.com. The response to the reopening has been incredible. Thank you to everyone that waited so patiently for us to return. Hope to see you all soon. – Stacey Calcano
