Wet and dreary or April showers bring May flowers? Call it the power of positive thinking, but you’ll soon find a smile slowly curling across your lips when the colorful daffodils and tulips are in bloom next month. Families create colorful patterns on their eggs with tissue paper, glitter, glue and paint and build a nest for the decorated eggs with twigs, feathers, and clay. Please bring two hard-boiled eggs per child. Recommended for ages 4 and up.

Singer and activist Paul Robeson was a towering figure in support of Republican Spain’s struggle against General Franco’s fascist rebels and created a controversy with his unwavering support for the Soviet Union. In his words, “The artist must elect to fight for freedom or for slavery. I have made my choice; I had no alternative.” Paul Robeson, Jr., noted author and civil rights activist, will discuss his father’s fight against fascism. Presented in conjunction with Facing Fascism: New York and the Spanish Civil War.

Get Mom and Dad or Grandma and Gramps off the sofa this summer. City Parks Foundation welcomes all New Yorkers, ages 60 and over, to participate in CityParks Seniors Fitness. Beginning its second season on April 30, 2007, CityParks Seniors Fitness will offer free tennis lessons, yoga instruction, and fitness walking in six parks across the city. All activities in this eight week program take place twice a week at each location and participants are encouraged to maintain regular attendance to maximize health benefits.
