  • the SF Gate article has this quote:
    “The middle class is gone, and what we have left is underprivileged, uneducated, poor black folks.”

    i believe this is exactly what has already happened around the 116/Frederick Douglass – 110 CPN/Morning Side Park area. only the new arrivals + the poor black folk who are like a sad tale from some left behind story. and it’s caused a lot of tension in that area, far beyond what we experience in the more central harlem area. it’s really interesting, but also really sad. i hope the “homeowner class” in the Mt Morris Park area, the Sugar Hill Area, and others like it stay no matter what comes.
