Kits: basketball, 10 cones, 3 bats, horse shoe set, playground ball, nerf ball, football, Frisbee, 2 handballs, soccer ball, jump rope, 2 whiffle balls, hula hoops.
Field day kits are available on a first-come-first-served basis. A canvas sack stocked with a variety of games and sports equipment-everything you need to host an exciting trip or family outing in the Park. With valid photo ID. ALL AGES. FREE. 212-348-4867 Call to register.

North Meadow Recreation Center
Mid-Park at 97th Street

Join the Central Park Conservancy at the indoor climbing wall at the North Meadow Recreation Center during open climbing hours. The wall includes a small roof, steep angles, and an arete. Participants receive I.D. card, all equipment, and free climbing. Youth who have successfully completed the climbing courses at North Meadow will be able to use the indoor climbing wall during youth open climbing hours. AGES 8 to 17. Fee $5. No registration required.

Olmsted and Vaux designed the North Woods to replicate the forests of the Adirondack Mountains with its crystal streams, calming cascades, and rustic bridges. There’s no need to fight the traffic on the Thruway this summer. This scenic and meditative walk is right in New York City’s backyard. Tour will be approximately one hour. Join the Urban Park Rangers for a walk along a landscape that holds many historical secrets, with a rare opportunity to go inside the oldest structure still standing in Central Park.

Beginner Climbing For Groups (Ages 8 to 17)

Experience the dynamics of teambuilding through cooperative games and problem-solving initiatives. Enhance your group’s ability to work together during our challenge course sponsored by the Central Park Conservancy. Shakespeare on the Run: LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST
May 31 – June 24, Thursdays – Sundays, 7:00 pm
The New York Classical Theatre presents its 8th season of free theater in Central Park. Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, directed by Stephen Burdman, will begin at 7:00 pm, at West 103rd Street and Central Park West, inside the Park. As you watch the show, the next scene that is about to happen starts about 50 feet away, and the whole audience follows the actors to where the scene is taking place every 10 – 15 minutes. From West 103rd Street, the play moves around the Lake, using footbridges, trees, rocks, benches, and even the audience as scenery!

Arm-of-the-Sea Theater: AT THE TURNING OF THE TIDE

At the Turning of the Tide is a large-scale theater production that combines lusciously painted mask and puppet characters with live music in a performance spectacle celebrating the Hudson River Estuary. Starring beautifully decorated marionettes who travel to China, Africa, and even Central Park in the course of their story. Followed by a make-and-take-home-your-own-puppet Family Workshp. Produced by City Parks Foundation.
