Harlem’s Got Talent

photo_need.jpg“I will rise to the occasion/Growing in my dreams/ I will grow to the occasion/ Rising in my dreams/ I will follow my dreams to the mountaintop/ Star of fashion/ of science/ beautiful girl you cannot stop/ I can see into the future and it’s gonna be stressful/ But I will rise to the occasion/ I’m going to be successful!”

This inspirational poem was written by a 5th grader at P.S. 101 in Harlem. Students traveled from Harlem to Massachusetts to hear their poetry performed as part of a music and poetry program at a performing arts charter school. Read the full story here: Masslive.com
