The article on the Record Shack is a great one indeed. Thank you for finding this and letting us know. As a recording artist, I frequent the record shack for my hard to find choices. It’s a sad day when a staple like this one becomes displaced by gentrification. Churches are no better than politicians for the dollar, they just dress differently. Soon, The Apollo will be gone and Harlem will be white all over again. Please let me know what I can do to help.
The Scoop had one feature on a Harlem Institution on the way out, and one more White person moving in. Not hating, just an observation of the sign of the times.

the article on the record shack is a great one. but that last line–harlem’s safe for everyone but black people—is particularly ironic considering who served him with his eviction notice.
he doesnt even realize he’s being sold out by his own people. a dollar is a dollar.
