Seems to me it would = less traffic & exhaust being emitted in Harlem every morning from people cross through Harlem. The idea is to get folks on mass transit prior to Harlem.

Okay, to combat daily parking from outsiders displacing locals with cars, you get a permit, no biggie, even if it cost, this is done all over the place, it’s commonplace, I have to have a tag for my parking out in Sag Harbor, no biggie, you deal with it.

First of all owning a car in Manhattan is crazy in and of itself, every expensive, insurance high, etc.

This is a city, I’ve lived in cities all over the world, when you live in a city, check your suburban expectations at the door. There is noise and congestion in a city, you have to deal with all sorts of additional hoops and crap to deal with when you elect to live in a city.

In the real world gas is $6 – $8 / gallon. It should be incredibly expensive to own and use a private car in a city. We would all be better off if the roads were used exclusively for taxis, buses, emergency vehicles, deliveries, & bicycle commuters. NYC would do just fine if not flourish.

CongPricing will be great for Harlem, might give people 1 more incentive & perk that comes with Harlem residency, a parking permit!
