Jazzmobile moves Harlem to a jazzy groove
While I have never taken advantage of the opportunity to experience the annual Jazzmobile performances that take place all over Harlem, I have heard wonderful things about the quality of the jazz artists that they invite to perform and the uplifting atmosphere of the events. The 2007 Jazzmobile kicked off right after the 4th of July and will be playing on until the end of August. Plenty of homegrown talent worth checking out. Jazzmobile was founded by jazz legend Billy Taylor back in 1964. Not only does this not for profit offer free concert thoughout the summer months but they also provide affordable music education programs throughout the year.
