Spotted in Harlem: Sumthin’ nu hot and cool
I forgot to mention that over the weekend I walked by a new Eritrean restaurant on the far west end of 125th Street. A tipster mentioned it a while ago but I cannot remember the name of the restaurant. I tried to go in but they were having a private event. The guy outside said that they are open for business. Do not make the same mistake I did — they are not Ethiopian they are Eritrean.

Addendum:
And while we are on the topic of something new…any word on the new ice creamery that was set to open on 5th Avenue next to Nubian Heritage? Eater reports that Morningside Heights (a.k.a. Columbia) is getting a new Pinkberry, the Cali based soft serve franchise (warning theme music is very catchy!) What happened to just having regular old, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry or Neopolitan (when you wanted to get fancy)?

No, I spoke someone and it is definitely an Eritrean restaurant.
Do you happen to know the name of the restaurant? I am curious to know, because I have not heard of any new Eritrean restaurants in the city. Massawa, located on the corner of 121st and Amsterdam has the best Eritrean/Ethiopian food in NYC, hands down in my opinion! (And I am not just saying that because I am Eritrean
Also, you might have passed by the Eritrean Community Center, which is located on the far end of the 125th.
