Community Gardens Tour

Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the PS 76 school garden, the NYC Community Garden Coalition and Harlem community gardeners will host “Harlem Green, A Tour of Harlem Community Gardens.” The tour ends with a free BBQ at the Harris Garden on W. 153rd Street & St. Nicholas Avenue.

  • Hey, mayotic. So glad you went and had such a positive experience. Eating grapes right off the vine sounds like such a non-NYC experience, and yet there you were, right in the heart of the big city. Fabulous!

  • Thanks for posting this – I took the tour and it was a wonderful surprising experience. All of the gardens were beautiful and the people were just so nice and welcoming. The tour included a free breakfast and ended with a free “backyard BBQ”. We learned about many different herbs and medicinal plants, saw cotton, okra, tomatoes and even ate grapes fresh from the vine. I am looking forward to participating again next year. I’ll be adding photos from the tour to the Uptown Flavor pool on flickr. Thanks again.
