Harlem Renaissance Road Race

Registration has begun for the Harlem Renaissance Road Race, which is happening this year on Saturday, September 15th!

The Harlem Renaissance Road Race is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and give new life to the Harlem Heath, Mentoring and Education Movements. The race invites, corporate sponsors, service providers, schools, churches, parents and there children to come run or walk for the cause of health and mentoring the Next Generation in Harlem.

The race is designed for beginners, experienced runners and walkers alike and is intended to high light Harlem’s rich history and celebrities the true spirit of the Harlem Renaissance by provide participants and spectators alike with a glimpse of Harlem’s energy, diverse architectural structures, great cultural institutions, and historic sites.

Proceeds from the race are used to sponsor scholarships for youth from the Harlem community.

Registration forms are available here or at the Harlem branch YMCA (which is closed this week, but open again next week). You can also register online.

  • I love this race. Last year I did great, but this year. I’m destined to do better. I don’t have a special team, but I would like to run for the “Harlem Horizon Art Studio,” some day in the near future…..
