This Woman’s Work — A Choreographic Project Representing Women of Color, returns to New York City to celebrate its third season, Sept. 7 and 8, in partnership with the Harlem Stage at Aaron Davis Hall/The City College of New York.

From Harlem Stage: This Woman’s Work unleashes a hybrid of dance and movement by emerging and established female choreographers from the African Diaspora. Enlightened by the works of Katherine Dunham and Pearl Primus and acknowledged in (2006) as Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch”, the ensemble presents two exciting evenings featuring a mosaic of raw, sensual, empowering and deeply rooted works by Camille A. Brown, Shani Nwando Collins, Princess Mhoon Cooper, Bridget L. Moore, Francine Ott, Ursula Payne and Makeda Thomas. In addition, see multi-talented artist Shel Riser (aka “Sonny-boy”) and his funktified Jimi Hendrix/James Brown inspired band.
