Tamale and Tequila Tasting

The Tamale and Tequila Tasting event will feature a diverse selection of homemade tamales prepared by Mexican street vendors who access Esperanza del Barrio’s services. A sampling of the delicious tamales offered includes Tamales Oaxaquenos, Rojos, Huasteco Pescado, Mole Poblanos, Vegetarian, Sweet Tamales, and for the grand finale, tamales flavored with Jose Cuervo Tequila.

Founded in 2003 by a group of women from East Harlem, Esperanza Del Barrio is a not-for-profit organization that works with immigrant street vendors and Latino youth to develop leadership within the immigrant community. Proceeds will support Esperanza del Barrio’s programs and services for Latino immigrants in New York City.
