Harlem River Fest Needs Volunteers
Harlem River Festival
Swindler Cove Park, Northern Manhattan on the Harlem River
Saturday, September 29, 2007; 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
5,000-plus attendees & participants
The Harlem River Festival is annually hosted by New York Restoration Project (NYRP) in honor of National Estuaries Day.
The dynamic festival in Swindler Cove Park includes community rowing, origami, face painting, local cuisine, live entertainment, arts and crafts, and much more! Along the way you will learn fascinating ecological and historical details of the Harlem River. All events are family-oriented, so bring your kids, and don’t forget your kid-like sensibility.
Volunteers will assist with leading activities (such as Pollution Solution, Paint Me a River, Paper Boats, etc.), assisting with clean-up throughout the day, taking pictures, and so forth. For more information, and to register as a volunteer for the event, please contact Sally Mercedes at 212-333-2552 or smercedes@nyrp.org.
Swindler Cove Park is located on the Harlem River Drive at the foot of Dyckman Street. For directions and further information, please visit www.nyrp.org.
