The Classical Theatre of Harlem brings back Langston Hughes’ play “Black Nativity” for the 20o7-2008 season. Tony Award nominee Andre DeShields is featured in this colorful adaptation set on 42nd Street in 1973. “The Black Nativity” will be showing November 30-December 30. Harlem has undergone tremendous changes in the past 15 years. Films like “American Gangster” highlight some of the more troubled times, but generally Harlem is seen as the poster-child for a gentrifying community more so than a bastion of crime and terror. It seems Harlem’s international reputation may still has some catching up to do.
