Hello Harlem!
Greetings,
My name is Demetria (aka loveisdope) and I am the new editor-in-chief here at UPTOWNflavor. I’ve been tinkering around for the past week, so you’ve most likely seen my posts already. UPTOWNflavor is a great site and I hope to engage its ever-growing readership.
A little about me….I am a freelance writer, Harlem resident, budget-conscious fashion diva, newlywed and hip hop enthusiast. I worked as an urban planner here in NYC for a few years, so I am very interested in development and issues of gentrification.
I’ve enjoyed reading your comments and interacting with some of you via e-mail. Please keep sending in your reviews and tips. This site is fueled by your participation. If you have something you’d like to see on UPTOWNflavor or if you’d like to volunteer your time and energy as a regular contributor, please send us an email at tips@uptownflavor.com.
Thank you for having me and I look forward to reading your comments!
-Demetria

Thank you for the lovely welcome, Anonymous. Your post was deleted because it personally insulted a fellow poster not because of whether or not I agreed with what you wrote. In fact, I thought you made a couple good points, but you chose to throw in unnecessary, disrespectful comments as well.
That said, if you don’t find this site to be relevant and you don’t care for me as an editor, you are more than welcome to stop visiting.
Disrespect will not be tolerated. I’m only keeping up your disrespectful comments here on this post because they are useful for showing what types of comments are not within the Guidelines for this site.
Have a fabulous evening.
-Demetria, Editor-In-Chief
I forgot, D = LoveIsDope? So is D. A real dope!
Demetria,
This site is going from bad to worse with this person Demetria now here. I had a post removed as she did not agree with it basically.
What a joke. This site will never be relavent as long as you play Fidel Castro and oppress views you disagree with.
Care to grow the F up D? Let me guess, you’re Black, right? Never speak ill or critical of things “Black”, do that and you are edited and removed.
Grow the F up D.
Did you know that before Nicky Barnes and all the Uptown Gangsters, the most powerful people in Harlem from whom you got permission to do anything were the Black Jews located in East Harlem. I don’t know if the Hebrew Israelites on 125 are associated with the others.
Thank you for the suggestions! They are all great ideas. I’m taking notes.
1. New construction projects in Harlem
2. New restaurants in Harlem
3. Rezoning of 125th Street
4. Issues revolving around Harlem’s gentrification
5. Events/activities
6. Columbia Expansion
7. Issues revolving around the newly introduced presence of scientology in Harlem
Hi!
I’d like to see a little bit on the Hebrews located on 125th street.
