Harlem International Film Festival Fall/Winter Screenings

Okay, guys. I don’t know how many of you got to take advantage of the films during the official festival period. This week the HIFF Fall/Winter series continues with two compelling and controversial documentaries by world-renowned public health and policy advocate, Dr. Gary Null. Just so happens I am studying for exams and cannot afford to take the night off. So if any faithful UF readers get to see any of these you can give us a review!

Gulf War Syndrome:
When the US government sent soldiers to Iraq, little did these soldiers know that their own government would inflict tremendous harm upon them, and everyone in the region, by exposing them to deadly chemicals, depleted uranium and radiation. Gary Null explores evidence of the deadly and toxic effects of armor-piercing radioactive depleted uranium, the use of experimental and risky vaccines on over 100,000 U.S. troops, and the chemical contamination and environmental devastation caused by the military during the Persian Gulf Wars.
AIDS, Inc:
What if everything we’ve been told about AIDS is wrong? What if HIV were not the virus that causes AIDS? That the HIV antibody test was flawed? That the drugs given for it cause symptoms indistinguishable from AIDS? And that AIDS is the most profitable disease ever? This documentary gives a voice to alternative and controversial views on the AIDS epidemic.

Just a bit confused – why doesn’t the Harlem International Film Festival actually play in Harlem?
Some films sound interesting – would like to go – any chance to get tickets at the door?
