New York, NY (December 13, 2007)–NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing and tourism organization, recently announced the relocation of its Harlem Visitor Information Center to Nubian Heritage at 2037 Fifth Avenue. The Information Center will serve visitors and residents by providing comprehensive tourism information about New York City, with a particular focus on the neighborhood of Harlem.

“We are pleased to partner with Nubian Heritage and to relocate the Visitor Information Center to this new location,” said George Fertitta, CEO of NYC & Company. “Visitors and residents will continue to have access to a variety of travel information—much of it centered on activities in the neighborhood—all in a convenient location. We served more than 50,000 people last year at our previous location, and we hope to accommodate even more customers in the coming year.”

NYC & Company will provide maps, guides and brochures to visitors at Nubian Heritage, a lifestyle marketplace that offers a variety of shops and services, including a coffee shop, beauty and personal care products, home accessories, a florist, an art gallery and a spa.

The new kiosk, centrally located at 2037 Fifth Avenue, is convenient to the 2, 3, A, B, C and D subway lines to 125th Street. The hours of operation are 10am to 6pm, seven days a week. The phone number is 917-572-9838.

The announcement was made at a Dec. 1 press conference announcing NYC & Company’s Harlem for the Holidays, a new program that brings together more than 100 Harlem retailers, restaurants and landmark attractions to offer a variety of promotions and savings from December 1 to December 24. New Yorkers and visitors can benefit from offers that range from 20% discounts to two-for-one admission to some of Harlem’s most popular destinations, including El Museo del Barrio, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Hats. By Bunn., N Boutique, Lenox Lounge, Sylvia’s Restaurant and more.

  • i don’t quite get that move either.why not jus hav 2 locations instead…but relocating from 125th st? wasn’t it recently dubbed the best street in all the US?

  • I don’t understand why this move? The Kiosk was located in the commercial district of 125th street and move it to an obscure location on 5th Ave, which does not get that much tourist foot traffic.
It is also not accessible from the A,B,C,D subway line as mentioned and a slight walk from from the 2,3 train.
