Cityscapes: Educators Workshop
Teachers, parents, and administrators are invited to a free open house and workshop as we explore two of the Museum’s latest exhibitions: the etchings of early 20th-century artist John Sloan and the 21st-century photographs of Gus Powell. Enjoy a gallery tour of John Sloan’s New York and Manhattan Noon: Photographs by Gus Powell, followed by a workshop comparing and contrasting the ways New York City life is translated through the medium of each artist. Considering Powell’s inspiration from poetry we will explore how to use visual literacy to make the content accessible in the classroom. Light refreshments will be served. RSVP to ezipris@mcny.org or 212.534.1672, ext. 3356, by January 18th.
