The staff of Belvedere Castle invites you to join them for a thoughtful Black History Month craft.  Discuss your dreams and aspirations, and then create an artful representation of your dream to display as part of a collaborative Black History Month mural that will be hung at the Castle for all visitors to see.  FREE. Seneca Village, Manhattan’s first prominent community of African-American landowners, once stood where Central Park now is today. Join David Karabell, a New York City history enthusiast and long-time Conservancy tour guide, as he sheds light on the life and times of Seneca Village residents in this program commemorating Black History Month. Take a look at artifacts, maps, and the remaining archaeological sites located near Belvedere Castle (weather permitting).   Light refreshments will be served. Come to Belvedere Castle for this fun Black History Month craft to find out!  We’ll start by reading some poetry.  Next, you’re invited to make your own paper crayons, which will become part of a large collaborative fine art project to illustrate the subtle wonders between each hue.  FREE.
