under the viaduct: A Call to Artists for Harlem Piers Arts Festival
To celebrate the opening of the new waterfront park along 12th Avenue in West Harlem, the Harlem Piers, Waterfront & Economic Development Committee of Manhattan Community Board 9 is seeking proposals for its arts festival in May, 2008.
Proposed projects should embrace strong visual appeal and sensitivity to West Harlem and aim to attract more residents to the West Harlem Piers area along 12th Avenue from 124th Street to 135th Street.
The Manhattan Community Board 9 strongly welcomes proposals from residents of West Harlem and from artists registered with the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and Dun & Bradstreet.
ARTIST WALK: Applicants can attend artist walks to ask questions and learn more about this process. Walks are scheduled Saturday, March 1st and 8th from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and will begin at the Community Board office at 16 Old Broadway.
