U.F. received the following note from Gordon at Big Apple Jazz informing us about the dire straits he is facing to stay open.  Below are some suggustions as to how you can help out.

Please note that we are teetering on the brink of oblivion and so we are going to have a party!   Billed as EZ’s Harlem Rent Parties.   Hopefully, it won’t have to be a going away party for us, but we’re are in a financial bind and are actively seeking the support of the jazz community to find a swift and decisive solution to our money woes.

We will be calling upon our celebrated friends to lend their talent to the Rent Parties and in the spirit of the storied parties of Harlem’s past, we expect to raise the dead, raise the roof and raise the rent for another month or two.

If you can assist us in any way: with a kind word to a generous soul; or some cd’s we could give away as a door prize or sell it would go a long way in keeping EZ’s Woodshed swinging into the future until we can get our situation stabilized.

Another way folks can help out is to log onto www.bigapplejazz.com and click on Free DVDs link.  They will get a free trial of Netflix service (a great way to check out jazz flicks and 90,000 other movie titles-risk free for two weeks), and we will get a substantial commission for each trial signed up through our link.  Please forward this email to your list because there are people who could help us out painlessly from anywhere in the US just by getting the Godfather delivered free to their home to watch at their leisure – no strings attached.

Thanks for everything.  It’s been a great ride and hate to see it come to an end.
