Op-Ed: What Can He Do?
Why is it that a Black Man can create a tiny piece called a filament
(electric light – Lewis Latimer)
That allows people to see in the dark?
But can’t be seen fit to lead a country to the true light.
Why is it that a Black Man can create an instrument (clock – Benjamin
Banneker) that all People use to tell time?
But people don’t think it is time for him to run a country.
Why is it that a Black Man can design a place for the high authorities to
meet in & a place for the President to live in (The Capital & the
White House Phillip Reid (a slave) & Pierre L’Enfant)?
But not good enough to lead these meetings or live in himself.
Why is it that a Black Man was brilliant enough to do the first open heart
surgery (Dr. Daniel Hale Williams)
And show the world how to get and preserve plasma (Dr. Charles Drew)?
But not good enough to put a program in place where everyone can afford this
surgery.
Why is it that a Black Man was creative enough to design an instrument
(traffic light – Garrett Morgan)
To bring multiple people (traffic) to a halt?
But not seen creative enough to design a plan to bring all this unnecessary
and worthless
Fighting between countries to an end.
Why is it that a Black Man could create the soles (shoes – Jan Matzeliger)
that people
Walk on everyday?
But not seen good enough to fill the shoes of a bad president.
Why is it that a Black Man was smart enough & brave enough to teach himself
(Fredrick Douglas &
Thomas Fuller – both slaves) and others how to read, write and/or calculate
math?
But not seen (as) smart enough and bold enough to calculate a platform to be
President to a country
That sure needs another first by us.
So you see my Brothers and Sisters what I am saying is let us not forget our
past,
Which led us to our present and can definitely be the backbone to our
future.
We were good enough, smart enough, creative enough, and bold enough then, so
Lets all give Obama the chance to show that we are still these things and
more.
We all are as strong as our weakest link, so don’t be that weak link that
denies
Our people that chance to show we still can OVERCOME & BE THE FIRST

Anon,clearly what UptownHoney said was lost on you. Thanks for another useless comment. Is it only divisiveness when a white’s faults are pointed out? Only when a double standard is brought to light? This is not at all what Obama was speaking of in his speech. Ignoring the faults of whites while Blacks are crucified for the exact same thing is not what Obama is propagating. UptownHoney – I guess Obama’s speech today didn’t have much impact on you since you still seem big on language of divisiveness. So much for “change”. Words like yours are exactly the problem that Obama was talking about today. Thanks for perpetuating the divide.
It’s great being White, and a White woman like Hillary. All the world is focused on Barack Obama for sitting in a church and listening to the big bad pastor that said what all Black people hear on the regular.
Meanwhile in the real world? Hillary Clinton sits and listens to the PLO / Arafat’s wife in a speech ripping Israel, she gets up, hugs and kisses Arafats wife afterward.
Yet no one is asking Hillary Clinton to be held responsible for this in this election, why is that? Obama is as much responsible for his Pastor’s words as Hillary is for Mrs. Arafat’s words.
Lovely Double standard in America, isn’t it?
Obama is the first politician in history expected to be held responsible for his minister. When the Clintons steal this, where do Blacks with money sign up to send it to McCain?
Of course, Hillary won Harlem in the primaries. Can we have an editorial in her favor as well?

ummm, because he isn’t qualified.
The answer is because he’s a N_______ at the end of the day. His educational and professional background is not relevant.
Bill Clinton marginalized Obama in South Carolina to be nothing but a N________ (like Jesse Jackson and it is that, his ethnicity that accounts for his victory, not his education, professional background, record and distinctions).
Hillary Clinton has said John McCain is prepared to be President, and that Obama is not, she declared McCain should be elected over Obama.
Some White people will like you and accommodate you and be your pal, right up to the point where you’re about to shine over them, as Bill and Hillary Clinton are showing us all.
Once you do that, achieve and surpass even the most Black-supporting White people (a la the Clintons), they will ultimately reduce and marginalize you, to what point? To assert you’re not qualified and John McCain is more qualified.
What can he do? Nothing. Many White people will search high and low to marginalize you when you are Black. 2 weeks ago Obama was Muslim complete with photo in Kenya. Now we see his CHRISTIAN Pastor of 20+ years is in hot water with White people.
He can’t do anything because demanding on what THEY want to accuse you of, one day they will swear you are Muslim, and then right on a dime turn and criticize your brand of Christianity.
You see, Obama can’t win (get a fair shake from White people). They’ll paint him to be what they need him to be, to marginalize him.
And edit out those stray uppercase letters and questionable claims.
