What’s Up With Macy’s in Harlem?
Last year we brought you news Macy’s being a possible candidate as an anchor retailer for the space between 125th and 124th Streets on Lenox Ave. Then the area was actually demolished and the event fueled comments and speculations about Macy’s possible arrival uptown. Yesterday The Real Deal released an article reporting that Macy’s has been in talks for a couple months about scouting a location in Harlem. Only not on Lenox Avenue, but a bit farther east in the upcoming Harlem Park Building. Their decision, however, may be linked to how much space MLB takes up:
The Macy’s store could rise up to the third floor of the 21-story building, however the amount of available space hinges on how big a lease Major League Baseball takes for the new television network it is launching.
