The Grapevine: Jackie Robinson Pool ‘Modified’ Hours

Well folks, despite the recent wave of showers we all got a taste of warm weather in precious Harlem. I for one couldn’t help but feel like taking a swim the other week when we had 73 degree weather. My first thought was the Jackie Robsinson Pool. And for those of us who would like to pencil in some aqua fun before work or after watchin the Daily Show there’s good news! Word came from The Langston Condo building that the Jackie Robinson Pool will be offereing “early bird” and/or “night owl” swimming hours. Tenants from The Langston had sent online requests to the City Parks Assistant Commissioner Nancy Barthold and she responded back saying “We offer ‘early-bird’ and/or ‘night-owl’ swimming at a number of outdoor pools and we will be glad to include Jackie Robinson pool on this list. Our outdoor pools open towards the end of June and we will notify the community of the schedule”. So…good news to all the folks in the Valley. See you all in the pool. Come on it! The water’s fine!

Cool! I hope ppl in the neighborhood will take advantage of this so that it is sustainable. During the hot, summer days that pool is wall to wall kiddies. Adult swim, anyone?

I hope this is just an adult swim! this is a residential neighborhood, and the kids are too loud as is. At night it would be worse. Over 18 only hours would be fine.
