Council Approves Rezoning of 125th Street, Over Loud Protests of Some Spectators – NYTimes
Now that it’s official (for better or worse or both) those interested should check out the approved 125th Street Rezoning. The council modifications included the creation of a ‘Bonused Space Local Arts Advisory Council’ to be selected by the various Harlem Council members. The bonus was expanded to include ‘visual/media and literary arts’ spaces and lease terms for the organizations extended.
On another note, what ever happened to improving Adam Clayton Powell Plaza? A top-quality public space for Harlem’s Main Street still seems to have been left out of the discussion.
