What’s Up With Doug E. Fresh?

Last year we learned that rap legend and the original beatbox innovator Doug E. Fresh [insert echo sfx here] was opening up a new chicken spot in the 130s. Since last summer, things have been relatively quiet about the opening of Doug E’s spot. A reader emailed us today:

Hi,
I’m curious if you would be able to tell me if Doug E’s Chicken and Waffles is open yet? Thanks for your help.

Has Doug chickened out and possibly waffled [groan] on this venture? Anyone with the inside scoop please add your comments below.

I cycled past it yesterday. As of May 10th, it’s still not open yet. Get it together, Doug E.!

Doug E Fresh was on the Steve Harvey Show this morning, he did not give much details about the restaurant, only the name. He did not say whether or not it was actually opened. It sound like he was trying to be quite about it.

I am doing work at Doug’s place. It will open in a month or
so. Permits from the city of New York take time, and designing the place also eats up time.

Doug E does things himself, being an entertainer he is very busy on the road.

Drive by now, and check it out ! ! !

    Peace Out : )
