Last year we brought word that Maroons, the hip Jamaican/Southern cuisine eatery on 16th street was planning to build a second location on 145th Street. Then we were given more hope when they had posted a computer rendition of what the restaurant will look like as well as the seating arrangement. After nearly a year of nail-biting anticipation we have finally received word of its grand opening! I reached out to Arlene Weston, owner of Maroons and she wrote back:

“Guess what? I have merged with a partner and we will be opening in July… So tell everyone to get their party dresses and tux wear out because we are going to have some great grand opening affairs. It we be will worth the 3 years wait. The time is perfect now.”

Well, you heard it here first, folks! I, for one, don’t own a tux but you best believe I will rent one for the occasion! Looking forward to the festivities!
