What’s Up: Amy Ruth’s Brooklyn Still Not Cooking

So, last year we found out that Harlem favorite, Amy Ruth’s, was going to be opening up another location in the old Gage & Tollner location on Fulton Mall. Some reported it was supposed to happen by the end of the year, while others reported February of this year. As of Tuesday, the scent of deep fried chicken and collard greens was nowhere to be found along the Brooklyn corridor. To top it off, they are also facing a liquor license issue (that they are claiming is their own fault).

You might recall, Amy Ruth’s changed hands last year and Carl Redding moved on to other ventures. Perhaps the mistake the new owners made was not realizing that taking over a successful restaurant is a whole different ballgame from starting from scratch. If anyone knows What’s Up with Amy Ruth’s in Brooklyn please fill us in?
