YOU don’t HAVE any RIGHT to SHOP in A store IF they CHOSE not TO open IT! If YOU are DISSATISFIED with STAPLES then SHOP elsewhere! THIS has MORE to DO with STAPLES than WITH a GROUP of PEOPLE you OBVIOUSLY hate, NATE.
NO! You cannot flip the question on me. It’s not my or anyone’s place to justify out expectation.
It’s this damn HARLEM ass community that needs to explain and justify the CLOSURE of 125th st. for 3 Hours in the middle of a business MONDAY. For what?
You will NOT HEAR the voice of a merchant, someone who has a stake in Harlem. You will not hear the voice of someone who can calculate the lost commerce.
You will hear the voice of nonsensical people who probably have a city/government job and or welfare. NO ONE , not a single one of you can justify this action through the lens of commerce, how merchants and stake holders in Harlem and 125th St. BENEFITED from this nonsense.
Classic Old Harlem. Those with no vested equity in dollars are the only ones who don’t mind this BS. Actual business owners? They’re hurt by this nonsense.
Only in Harlem do Blacks claim a cultural equity with NO $$ at risk in the game explain and legitimize this nonsense.
Why should a business owner who happened to locate their store on 125th St. LOSE REVENUE & BUSINESS while a Store owner on Lenox or ACP or Madison etc not? This about how STUPID this is.
1) You can have a business right around the corner of 125th and not be forced to close. MAKES NO SENSE. Example? SYLVIA’s. Not a single one of these NEGROES with NO JOBS that started this BS had the balls to try and tell SYLVIA’s to Shut down and close from 1pm-3pm.
What’s the difference. Why should not Sylvia’s CLOSE while Staples Closed? Explain that? Malcolm X actually has been to Sylvia’s.
Seriously…..where’s the sense? The value? etc. in making Staples CLOSE for 3 hours while Sylvia’s, right around the corner is clocking DOLLARS? A place that actually served Malcolm X?
NEGROES MAKE NO SENSE and I can’t wait for the 95% OF SHIFTLESS, WELFARE, LAZY NEGROS ARE CLEANSED FROM HARLEM
Why don’t you find out what organization is responsible for forcing the closures and suggest they celebrate Malcom X’s birthday in a more constructive way? While it’s not likely they’d be amenable, you could also bring it up with the Harlem Chamber of Commerce.
Why not go to a Staples in Midtown?
If your schedule is so pressed, how do you find time to write that BS?
I am so annoyed right now with BLACK people. I worked from home today preparing for a presentation tonight at a midtown hotel, I have a pressed schedule. I walked from my apt to Staples to buy some needed materials, at 1:30pm Staples was closed, and will be closed til 4pm, as are many of the Stores on 124th.
It seems an organization with their own agenda and axe to grind has used pressure tactics on store owners on 125th to close from 1pm-4pm as a tribute to the birthday of Malcolm X, which I have learned is today.
WTF? So commerce comes to a standstill for 3 hours? Why? Why must it be 3 hours? If the shut down was only 1 hour would that have been insufficient or something? Why could not this ogranization ask merchants to open 1 hour later than usual or something?
How in the hell do you stop the middle of the business day for this? No, I don’t think a damn thing about Malcolm X is going to be furthered in doing this, I am just annoyed that some organization forced this BS on merchants and the community.
Why could they not have had a presentation, educational with speeches at the State Building? No, I blame Black People. Why? This group is not significant or relevant to anyone and they know the only way to get your attention is to disrupt your life.
I am annoyed with my people, a certain sector of my people, and it’s sad but lord, gentrifcation cannot come soon enough for me. If I was on the fence before? All sensitivity and compassion I had for “old Harlem” is GONE! Please please please let Harlem change from Black to GREEN tomorrow!
I feel extorted, my community was extorted by some radical ass group using heavy handed tactics on merchants. I feel Staples has failed me and I will speak to their management about this crap.
This group that forced this BS down the community’s throat could not pull this crap off on the UWS, Chelsea, Midtown, etc. Can you imagine? They would have laughed and then arrested these fools.
But Black people, this crap is tolerated, I can’t believe it. This reminds me of how Black people when they riot, they burn their own neighborhood, etc. Harlem is worse off, when 125th St. is forced by radicals to close for 3 hours in the middle of the damn business day.
This is nothing short of outrageous and plain old DUMB! You don’t see this unproductive crap in other communities, only Harlem were groups and people don’t have any appreciation for the value of WORK, BEING PRODUCTIVE AND EARNING YOUR LIVING IN THE DAY.
I really feel this way, I workd damn damn damn hard and can quantify how unproductive this BS is. This about the lost Tax revenues, the earnings from workers not being paid, etc. etc. There is a cost to the community with this BS act….and for what?
Like I said, I was undecided before, however now? I am pro gentrification and look forward to the day Harlem is cleansed from this type of crap, I am serious.
Radical ass crap that is of no value to anyone.
