I went to the Marqueta last Saturday with my grandmother (82 years old) and my mom (63 years old). My grandmother grew up in the area and would sell paper flowers at the Marqueta when she was a girl. We were stunned to see what it has become. We were all saddened to see the 4 vendors left. At first I wondered whether the other vendors were only opened during the week. But as you did, we started speaking to one of the remaining vendors and learned that's all there is. I stumbled upon your article as I was searching for images of the Marqueta during its heyday.
