Kalahari: Things Fall Apart

On May 23, 2008 by D. Bell

We’d be remiss if we just skipped off into the sunset without mentioning that the Kalahari had a slight construction problem the other day. Parts of the new luxury condo building’s exterior wall fell off, landing in the African Market which sits right below.

Critics might say it is the gods of architectural atrocities showing vengeance, while others would cite shoddy construction. Whatever the cause, it will be investigated immediately by city inspectors. This is horrible timing considering the mayor’s crackdown on construction companies after a number of fatal crane accidents. Good thing the developers and the mayor are already on chummy terms.

  • So, that is really not a good look for the home team. All of the money that they charge for the market-rate owners…they should have done sooo much better.
