Top 5 Uptownflavor.com Search Terms
Being the publishers of a weblog, we have a little crystal ball that tells us how some of our readers accidentally stumble onto our site. There are a number of search terms that show up regularly on the list. For the latecomers, here are the answers to your top 5 requests:
Yes, Whitley from the Cosby spin-off show “A Different World.” I get tons of hits from people who are looking for recent information about Jasmine and land on the “Raisin’ Cane” post. For information about the show go here. As for her personal life, here is what I know: She has recently filed divorce from her husband of 9 years due to irreconcilable differences and doesn’t seem to be “wishing him well.” Her divorce papers are asking for everything short of his dirty drawers. Her official website, Jasmineguy.org, doesn’t seem to be up and running, but here is her myspace page. By the way, if you haven’t read the book she wrote about Tupac’s mom, Afeni Shakur: Evolution of a RevolutionaryFashion: While we don’t profess to be a fashion site, we will occasionally have posts that have to do with
fashion. After all, we are in Harlem– home of some of the best urban designers and fashion conscious residents. Most recently, there has been a lot of talk about the Uptown Emerging Designers Market that took place at the Magic Johnson Theater on May 17 and 18. The next one will be taking place in July, so be sure to swing back through for details.
Hudson River Cafe: We were one of the first sites to catch wind about this fabulous spot located along the Hudson River. It was one of the first more upscale establishments to break ground in the once isolated area that surrounds Fairway Market. As the summer heats up there will be more of the same on the way.
Ellington on the Park: Future residents of the new development, Ellington on the Park have been
discussing closing costs, deposits and other home buyer questions in this thread. One of the readers has taken the initiative to start a Google group in order to keep the discussion going. Here is the link: http://groups.google.com/group/130bradhurst
Covo: Our intrepid reviewer, Hugo had an “off-night” when he decided to dine at Covo back in February, but quite a few readers chimed in that they in fact had positive experiences. (Note, Covo in Harlem’s Viaduct Valley is not to be confused with Il Covo in Chicago.)
Honorable mentions: Club Body and Alicia Keys
