Nature Walk with Mike Feller

Join Mike Feller, Chief Naturalist for the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation Natural Resources Group, for his monthly nature walk in Fort Tryon Park. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Bring a field guide if you wish. The nature walks are generously supported by the Greenacre Foundation.

Life in the past was much different than life today, and we have the objects to prove it. Explore our handling object collection and think about how the people who lived in the Dyckman Farmhouse in the past would have used them. (Recommended for children ages 5 and up) FREE, reservations recommended, as space is limited. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Broadway Promenade Clean-Up with The Friends

The Friends Committee of the Fort Tryon Park Trust needs your help to clean up the Broadway Promenade. Spend an hour or two making the world a cleaner & greener place. Visit the Friends membership table in Anne Loftus Playground for info about where the beautification crew will be working. Tools and work gloves supplied. All ages welcome. Refreshments afterward. Heavy rain cancels. Meet at Anne Loftus Playground, at the corner of Broadway & Dyckman Street.Scandia Symphony

Bring your blanket to Billing’s Lawn, overlooking the Hudson River and the New Jersey Palisades, and experience the music and culture of Scandinavia performed by the musicians of the New York Scandia Symphony and guests. Enter the park from Margaret Corbin Circle at the convergence of Ft. Washington Avenue & Cabrini Boulevard. Inside the garden, turn left and proceed to Billing’s Lawn.

Free yoga classes are led by certified yoga instructors and are suitable for all skill levels. Please arrive early. Bring a towel or yoga mat and water and wear comfortable clothing.

Meet on Abby’s Lawn. Enter the park at Fort Washington Ave. and continue north along the promenade. At the foot of Linden Terrace, bear right and then left. Proceed under the arch and down the path to Abby’s Lawn.
