Friday Freestyle Flavor: Five More Favorites

On June 27, 2008 by D. Bell

I’ve been back into my music (heavily) so I thought I would share a few more music sites with you.

1. Soulbounce: I know I mentioned this site before but they always have something good to share. www.soulbounce.com

2. Soul Tracks: Offers free downloads and “listening sessions” where you get to sample music from new releases. www.soultracks.com

3. Honorable Media: A regular homegrown music blog that I’ve grown fond of. Also offers links to first listens from new and established artists. http://hmblog.wordpress.com/

4. Breathe of Life: When the intellectuals gather, a debate on what is and what isn’t good music is sure to erupt. That is what happens each week when Kalamu and Mtume delve deeply into music aesthetics and theory that crosses all continents, genres and generations. Three free downloads of a classic, contemporary and cover song posted to the site each week. www.kalamu.com/bol/

5. Soul Commune: This is the online place where soul lovers gather. A wonderful online community that uses the Ning network. Indie artists, bloggers, music critics, and others sign on to share new music, good conversation and networking opportunities. www.soulcommune.com
