WHEN DO WE ROW? HRCR Masters row on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings 6:30-8pm and Saturday and Sunday mornings 8am-11am, from July 19th until Labor Day. Fall times TBA. A HRCR Masters Rowing Orientation will be held on July 19th at 9am.

Masters rowers are invited to sign-up for any or all rowing sessions, space permitting. (As individual availability shifts continually, signup is organized on a weekly basis.) Depending on demand and as we train more safety launch drivers we will add more rowing sessions.

COST: HRCR’s summer masters rowing season (July 19th-Labor Day) costs $125 and at least a day’s worth of volunteer work per month. Reduced rates may be available for residents of Bronx Community Board 5.

HRCR is an all-volunteer organization and we depend on your help to keep us going! Volunteering can take the form of safety launch driving (so we can row more!), arriving early to help rig boats, helping out with our LTR festivals throughout the summer, serving on an HRCR committee, coaching, or any number of other things.

HOW TO REGISTER: HRCR is a new club with limited equipment and storage space. As a result, HRCR currently has room for 20 new rowers in its masters program. Registration is first-come, first serve. Your registration is complete only when we have received your payment.

Our 2-part registration process is as follows:

1) Please send an email to kate@harlemrivercr.org ASAP. We will email you to tell you if there is still space available and will hold your place for 3 days.

2) As soon as you hear from us, send in $125 via our online link or check. (Online is preferred). In order to be fair to other rowers, we cannot reserve your space for longer than 3 days without payment.

As we purchase more equipment and train more safety launch drivers we intend to expand our masters program (more people, more times). If necessary we will create a wait-list. Please keep checking our website for details.

WHO CAN JOIN? HRCR’s Masters Rowing program is open to anyone age 18+ who has already learned how to row and knows how to swim. Yes, there is a swim test. J Younger rowers may join at the discretion of the HRCR board and with permission of their parent or guardian.

For folks who have not rowed in a while, don’t worry, we will have novice boatings.
