Spanish Harlem Rose: Paula Garces

On July 16, 2008 by D. Bell

Growing up in Spanish Harlem in the mid-80s was scary and dangerous, according to actress Paula Garcés. As an escape from the daily drama of her neighborhood, she took up acting, finding her big break with a role in Dangerous Minds starring Michelle Pfeiffer, in 1995.

Despite getting pregnant at the age of 19, Garcés continued her pursuit of acting and landed a recurring role on “Guiding Light” in 1999. In 2004, Garcés returned to the big screen when she was cast to play the role of a sex goddess in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. She reprised the role in Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. Keep an eye out for this Spanish Harlem Rose on the big and small screen.
