The Senator Chuck Allen, III Scholarship Fund celebrates Harlem Week during the month of August with the “Everybody Loves Chuck” LGBT (&peeps!) dance at
S.P.E.C.-the undercroft, located 204 W. 134th street, New York NY (between 7th and 8th Avenues) 10pm-1am on Saturday August 23. American Apparel, Here T.V.,
Pour Moi Liquor, Paper, Harlem World and UpTown magazines are some of the corporate sponsors for the scholarship event. Jonny McGovern of LOGO t.v.’s “Big
Gay Sketch Show” aka rapper, Gay Pimp will perform from his newly released cd, “Gays Gone Wild”.

A sexy swim show featuring Brazilian Trunks, Ay! Medici and Blynk designers, an open bar and buffet all will keep the place hopping.Tickets are $20 each and
will benefit high school students of color studying accounting, law, public or urban policy in the Tri-State area. The SCAIII Scholarship Fund honors the
recently deceased Chuck Allen, III a former Ct. alderman, state senator and special asst. to the mayor of New Haven, Ct.

Democracy Prep Charter School, a charter school in Harlem will open in its 5.5 million dollar renovated building owned by historic St. Philip’s church in large
part due to the foresight and advocacy of Chuck Allen prior to his death this year.

An openly gay African American former politician, Allen was a vocal advocate of socially conscious urban renewal and same sex ceremonies in the Episcopal church
of which he was a member. During his over four year battle with cancer,Allen spoke out about acceptance in the black community of LGBT persons in the church
and was featured on “In the Life” national news show, Logo t.v., Out and Advocate magazines.
