Martha J. Thomas Playwriting Workshop
I have to share this video because the folks featured on it are some of the warmest and most talented individuals in Harlem. On keys is Marjorie Eliot who hosts the annual Jazz at the Mansion and opens her home to wandering jazz lovers from across the world each and every Sunday. The poetry man is co-founder of the workshop, Roger Parris, Roger is a fabulous playwright and poet who is full of lively stories and is also a very dear friend. On the skins is Al Drears, and the brass is played by David Lee Jones. The picture on the piano is of Martha J. Thomas — a phenomenal woman and local playwright who left us much too soon with a positive body of work worth celebrating.
